Welcome to the website of the project
International diplomatic sources for Croatian history between the two world wars (Međunarodni diplomatski izvori za hrvatsku povijest između dva svjetska rata - MDIHP)
The project unites five researchers from the Croatian Institute of History and two external collaborators to research and publish international diplomatic papers on Croatian history between the world wars. These sources—in English, French, German, and Italian—have been scarcely used in prior research. The project will make materials from up to five archives in Europe and the United States accessible to Croatian and international researchers.
As part of the work on the project, the following will be carried out:
– We will conduct archival research in five archives: the Political Archive of the Foreign Office (Berlin), the National Archives (London), the Diplomatic Archives of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Paris), the Vatican Apostolic Archive (Rome), and the U.S. National Archives (Washington, DC).
– We will prepare and publish archival sources in at least five volumes of document collections. We will also publish materials and project results on open-access websites.
– The MDIHP project is proudly supported by the EU NextGenerationEU program from 2024 to 2027.
